A specific connection

Google permissions,
explained.

Akhara uses Google for two distinct things: identifying your account and, for a gym owner, authorizing invitation emails from that account.

1. Sign in

Google sign-in supplies the identity information needed to create or access your Akhara account. Akhara uses your Google identifier and email to match that account, and may display your Google name and picture as defaults.

2. Connect the owner's Gmail

Before creating a gym, the owner is asked to connect the same Google account for invitation sending. Akhara requests openid, email and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send. Google must authorize this additional access. Members and trainers joining by invitation do not need Gmail sending permission.

The Gmail send scope technically allows sending mail on your behalf. Akhara uses it only for gym invitations triggered by its invitation workflow. It does not request permission to read your inbox, browse messages or delete mail.

What an invitation includes

The selected recipient, gym and role, invitation code and expiry, and the invitation subject/body configured by the gym. The sender must match the connected owner's mailbox. Authorization credentials remain on the server and are not included in the invitation.

Disconnecting and revoking access

Use the Gmail connection controls in Akhara where available, or remove access through your Google Account connections. Disconnecting does not delete invitations already delivered or your gym records. For assistance, email akharasupport@gmail.com.

Verification status

Google OAuth verification is not complete. Hosting this page does not constitute Google approval. Gmail functionality remains subject to Google's consent, production configuration and review. Akhara does not bypass access blocks or consent requirements.
